We look forward to warmly welcoming you to the 3rd -CrossMED conference.
Landscapes Across the Mediterranean (CrossMED) is an international academic platform dedicated to advancing research, dialogue, and collaboration on Mediterranean landscapes and their complex socio-ecological, cultural, and economic systems. The initiative seeks to unite scholars, institutions, and practitioners from across the Mediterranean and beyond, fostering a truly interdisciplinary approach to understanding, managing, and sustaining the region’s diverse and fragile environments.
CrossMED envisions a coordinated Mediterranean network. It bridges the traditional divide between the natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. By integrating environmental research, spatial planning, cultural heritage studies, and marine governance, the platform provides a rigorous forum for knowledge exchange and applied solutions.
Our mission is to strengthen the connection between academic research, governmental policy, and professional practice, enabling evidence-based strategies for landscapes that are:
Although in a dynamic growth phase, CrossMED has already established itself as a significant catalyst for regional impact through its milestone editions:
These gatherings have solidified CrossMED as a dynamic hub for forging international networks and setting a robust foundation for future scientific discourse.
The long-term ambition for CrossMED is to evolve into the primary Mediterranean reference point for interdisciplinary landscape research. We are committed to broadening our thematic reach, diversifying our sessions, and deepening institutional partnerships, with a steadfast focus on supporting the next generation of researchers and doctoral candidates.
Through our partnership with global publishers like Springer, all accepted contributions undergo rigorous peer review and are published in scopus indexed book series and special journal issues, ensuring that Mediterranean-specific research achieves the global recognition it deserves.
CrossMED is more than a conference series; it is a sustained platform where the Mediterranean is studied, preserved, and managed through innovation and scientific rigor. By connecting disciplines, countries, and generations, CrossMED is shaping a Mediterranean that is resilient, vibrant, and prepared for the 21st century.
Institutions, organizations, and associations interested in partnering with CrossMED and support this international platform for advancing research, knowledge exchange, and sustainable management of Mediterranean landscapes, please send an email to info@crossmed-bos.org.
We sincerely thank the CrossMED Partners, representing numerous countries across the Mediterranean and beyond, for their dedication and collaboration in fostering this unique scientific community.
